As you may have noticed, the Blitz League deadline has passed, yet there were still a good few fixtures outstanding, for one reason or another.
How am I to award a title in that case? Well, I had a better idea.
In order to perhaps keep a level of competetive interest, and yet lose the burden of absolutely everyone having to play the same amount of fixtures, I have created the Haxball Galaxy 1v1 rankings, which I base on what we had from the league table as it stood at the end of play.(player)
To create the initial rankings, I took a function of the point average
(3 for a win, 1 for a draw still) and the number of games played.R = (PA×(1-(1/GP))×1000+400
Where R is ranking points, PA
is point average, and GP
This gives us the following table:
What I intend to do from there is update the rankings from then on if any two players agree to play a 1v1 and post a replay. Even if you are not on the current list, you will be given an initial rating of 1400
and ratings adjusted according to the ELO ratings format explained here (It's a bit complicated, but hey, at least it makes more sense than FIFA's rankings. Also for the purposes of these rankings, assume the K factor is always 60)
To stay listed, all you have to do is have played in the last two months, meaning inactive players drop off this list.
Hopefully I can get this to work, it could be rather interesting!
